Functional Assessment

The functional assessment is conducted by a highly skilled assessor who will assess your ability to perform the tasks associated with the position you have applied for. This may include lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, working at different postures and hand skill testing. The assessor will also check your blood pressure, heart rate and flexibility during the assessment. The assessment can take up to an hour to complete.

Medical Assessment

The medical screen is carried out by either a Registered Nurse or a Medical Doctor (Depending on your employer’s requirement). The assessment includes looking at your musculo-skeletal system, cardio-pulmonary system, a look at your ears, eyes and mouth, review of skin, veins and hernias. The assessment takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Other Tests

As well as a functional and or a medical assessment your employer may require additional tests such as:

  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Lung function testing
  • Hearing Test
